Regimental Museums are a great source of information when you are searching for details of your relatives war experiences, whilst most don't hold service records of individuals, they may hold information on details for battalions. Nearly all regiments have a museum, even if they no loner exist. For example The Kings Shropshire Light Infanty, has a museum sited at  Shrewsbury Castle.

 So when researching a relative, these museums are always worth a visit.

 I will not claim to have visited them all, so i can't tell you what size or quality their collections are, but i will try and list as many as i can find. If you e-mail me with any reccomendations, i will certainly mention it on this site.

  One of the best Online museums

 

Royal Regiment of Wales (24th/41st)
This museum houses the Medals won at Roukes Drift.
